This section is not to show and describe every Rhodesian medal but to cover the Rhodesian General Service Medal (RGSM) and its two issues. I have also shown and described the two variations of the Bronze Cross of Rhodesia (B.C.R.). The B.C.R. is undoubtedly the most faked Rhodesian Gallantry award. This is possibly because there were more B.C.R.'s awarded than the Silver Cross of Rhodesia (S.C.R.) and the Grand Cross of Valour (G.C.V.). Gallantry awards in Rhodesia were very difficult to obtain. Many members of the Security Forces were probably entitled to some form of a gallantry or bravery award but for whatever reason were never awarded one. |
